LAPSE
SHORT SYNOPSIS
TAKE YOUR MIND ON A TRIP!
"Lapse" is a story about the human condition of blinding ourselves to our flaws and only seeing what we want to see.
Renee wakes up one morning in the middle of the desert with blood on her hands. She cannot remember why she is there, how she got there or with whom she came. Her quest to uncover forgotten events leads her on a journey of discovery where reality and memory collide and people are not what they seem.
"Lapse", a surreal drama influenced by films like "Memento" and "21 Grams" and filmmakers like David Lynch, forces audiences to actively participate in order to work out plot intricacies. A second viewing reveals the "other" point of view - or rather - "other" point of truth. "Lapse" is an experimental narrative that breaks with standard rules in terms of plot, character, look, editing and structure. It pushes the envelope and explores a more risqué form of storytelling - both refreshing and original, yet possibly disconcerting and uncomfortable too. It really depends upon your point of view - or truth...
